Business supervision (supervision for entrepreneurs) is a structured, reflective process designed to support business leaders, entrepreneurs, and professionals in managing their businesses more consciously, effectively, and sustainably.
While it’s rooted in models used in psychology and coaching, business supervision applies specifically to leadership, strategy, decision-making, and self-awareness in a business context.
What Is Business Supervision?
Business supervision is a reflective space – where business owners or leaders step back from day-to-day operations to observe how they think, feel, and act in their business. It is a strategy alignment process – that helps entrepreneurs make decisions aligned with their values, resources, and long-term vision with a unique focus on observing and adjusting the way you function in your role, both internally (your mindset, emotions) and externally (your strategies, structures, team dynamics).
How it works?
It often includes mapping resources (both soft, like communication skills, and hard, like financial tools), structured reflection models (like GROW or systemic analysis), feedback and dialogue (with a supervisor or in group sessions), safe space to examine dilemmas, blind spots, and growth opportunities.

How does the business supervision differ from a mentoring session or a mastermind?

The differences between business supervision, mastermind, and mentoring are essential, even though all of these formats aim to support entrepreneurs’ development.
Business Supervision
Purpose: a reflective practice focused on you as a leader (certified supervisor) and your behavioral patterns in business. It’s about working on yourself in business, not just on the business itself.
Facilitator: a certified supervisor – a professional with a background in psychology and business (multidisciplinary approach)
Process: can be individual or group-based, with a clear structure. It focuses on internal processes like emotions, beliefs, values, and professional relationship dynamics and strategies.
Outcome: a deeper understanding of yourself as a business owner, processing emotional and relational challenges, and lasting changes in your management, communication style, your needs and strategies.
Mastermind
Purpose: peer-to-peer exchange of knowledge and support between equal-level entrepreneurs.
Facilitator: a moderator (sometimes rotating), but the group is democratic – everyone is an expert.
Process: regular meetings focused on sharing challenges, ideas, and feedback.
Outcome: mutual inspiration, cross-industry insights, creative problem-solving, and expanded networking.
Mentoring
Purpose: business development through the experience and expertise of the mentor.
Facilitator: a mentor – someone with significantly more experience in a specific area.
Process: one-on-one guidance, practical advice, often includes role-modeling.
Outcome: faster development through learning from others’ mistakes, experience-based strategies, and personal growth.
